Baby Lies Eating Food Off the FloorArya has developed on odd habit.

She doesn’t like to use her baby bowls or baby plates whenever she eats.

Instead, baby likes eating food off the floor.

It would be less strange if Arya was simply willing to eat food off the floor. But she actually prefers to have her food directly on the floor as opposed to sitting nicely in a plate or bowl.

Taking Baby to Granary TavernOver the weekend we combined our normal family brunch with spending time with some friends.

The five of us decided to go to Granary Tavern, a casual sit-down restaurant on the north side of Boston’s Financial District.

Baby Eating Pears

Baby Eating PearsNow that Arya is able to eat almost everything that adults can eat, we have started to let her experiment with different types of food.

Since she really likes fruit we tried giving her small pieces of pears this week.

Watching baby eating pears was quite amusing as she decided to eat them differently than most people.

Wind Chill Chart

Windchill ChartWith the weather dropping to single digits this week I was worried about whether it would be safe to take Arya outdoors.

Even with her bundled up in multiple layers the temperature was cold enough to make me worry.

After looking up the official National Weather Service Wind Chill Chart I was relieved at how cold it would have to get before going outside with baby would be dangerous.

Snowshoeing With Baby

Snowshoeing With BabyDuring our trip to Okemo Mountain with baby we only wanted to put Arya into daycare for one day.

Both Mommy and I thought that Alpine skiing with a baby would be too dangerous and cross-country skiing might be too tiring.

So on the second day of the weekend we decided to go snowshoeing with baby.

First Day of Daycare

First Day of Daycare - With MommyAs part of our trip to Okemo Mountain with baby we decided to put Arya into daycare for one day while Mommy and I skied together.

Packing for baby’s first day of daycare ended up being far more stressful than the entire day of daycare itself.

Arya and her parents all survived her first time in daycare without incident.

Okemo Mountain With a Baby

Okemo Mountain With a BabyThanks to some unexpected extra space, we secured a last minute invitation to go skiing at Okemo Mountain and Ski Resort in Ludlow, Vermont.

Taking baby on a ski trip was far more difficult than going by ourselves ever was.

Nevertheless, going to Okemo Mountain with a baby was still a fun way to spend a long weekend.

When Do Babies Cruise?

When Do Babies CruiseIt has been less than a month since I was wondering when my baby would stand unassisted and only a few weeks since Mommy and I saw baby standing by herself for the first time.

Arya’s new favorite activity is to walk around the entire house using furniture to support herself. This type of supported walking, called cruising, is a normal part of baby development.

Her developmental timeline lead me to wonder: when do babies cruise?

Taking Baby to Wagamama

Taking Baby to WagamamaDuring the week we decided to take Arya on a walk to Prudential Center.

Since it was cold outside we wanted to stop for lunch somewhere in the climate-controlled mall. We ended up at Wagamama, a chain restaurant serving Japanese food.

Taking baby to Wagamama meant we all got to enjoy warm noodles are a cold day.
